An encyclopaedia on the anti slut-shaming and victim-blaming phenomenon that is inspiring people across the world - SlutWalk.

SlutWalk was a movement against the shaming and blaming of victims of rape and sexual assault, which was started in April 2011 in Toronto, Canada by Heather Jarvis and Sonya Barnett. The first anti "Slut-shaming" and "victim-blaming" march and rally took place in Toronto on 3rd April. This was in direct response to the words of a Police Constable, Michael Sanguinetti who, whilst giving a talk to a group of school children proclaimed "I've been told I'm not supposed to say this – however, women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.".
